Mission of ERF

The Education Relief Foundation (ERF) was established in 2016 with the aim of developing, promoting and embedding a balanced and inclusive approach to education based on the four pillars of Intraculturalism, Transdisciplinarity, Dialecticism and Contextuality.

On 29 January 2020, ERF successfully accomplished it mission following the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Balanced and Inclusive Education (UDBIE) and the establishment of the Organisation of Educational Cooperation (OEC).

This legacy website serves as an online repository highlighting ERF’s achievements and valuable work and activities on balanced and inclusive education.

In December 2017, ERF convened the First ForumBIE 2030 at the United Nations in Geneva (UNOG) to present the collated recommendations of these meetings to the participating country ambassadors, policymakers, development research institutions and civil society organisations.

II ForumBIE 2030
In November 2018, in cooperation with the Federal Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) of the United Mexican States, ERF convened the II ForumBIE 2030 in Mexico City. Less than a year since receiving its mandate to produce a Global Guide to Ethics, Principles, Policies and Practices for Balanced and Inclusive Education, the first edition was launched in the presence of high-level, multi-sectoral delegates.

III ForumBIE 2030
ERF convened, jointly with the Republic of Djibouti, the III ForumBIE 2030 on 27-29 January 2020 in Djibouti City. It concluded with the signing of the Universal Declaration on Balanced and Inclusive Education and the establishment of new Organisation of Educational Cooperation.
