Mrs Amapola ALAMA has over 22 years of experience supporting Ministries of Education in over 30 countries in their reform processes. Previously she worked as Senior Program Specialist at the UNESCO-International Bureau of Education (IBE) for seven years based in Switzerland, as Programme director at the Iberoamerican States Organisation for Education, Science and Culture for eleven years in Spain and in Morocco for five years as responsible for the education sector at the Spanish Development Agency. She holds a Master of Arts in International Education from Sussex University in England; a Master in Development Studies from the Complutense University and a Master in Business Administration from Instituto de Empresa Business School in Spain and finally a MPhil in Mediterranean, Iberian, and Iberoamerican Studies from the Lyon II University in France. Her publications focus on equity, values in education, reading, competencies and safety, resilience and social cohesion.
