The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) has announced that H.E. Dr Salim Al-Malik will become its new Director General, following his election on Thursday, 9 May.
The Education Relief Foundation (ERF) congratulates and welcomes Dr Al-Malik to his new role. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with ISESCO as it enters this new stage of its development under Dr Al-Malik’s leadership, his vision, experience and commitment.
ERF also salutes and celebrates the legacy of the outgoing Director General, H.E. Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri. Dr Altwaijri has led ISESCO since 1991, making the organisation into what it is today. It was under his leadership earlier this year that the organisation added its voice to the International Call on Balanced and Inclusive Education, alongside the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World.
ISESCO, an ERF partner, is a specialised intergovernmental organisation working within the framework of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) specialised in the fields of education, science, culture and communication. ISESCO promotes, strengthens, and consolidates cooperation among the OIC’s 54 Member States.
