Welcome to the first edition of the ERF newsletter!
This publication brings together the highlights of the first months of 2019, giving you a closer look at what the Education Relief Foundation (ERF) has been doing since the II ForumBIE 2030. In this and future editions, we will report on ERF activities and the steps made towards concretising the International Call for Balanced and Inclusive Education (ICBIE), achieving its vision and realising its Call to Action.
Mandated by the ICBIE, ERF engaged, during the first quarter of 2019, with stakeholders in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East to coordinate the establishment of pilot projects, deepen partnerships, and forge new initiatives. We are pleased to report that 41 stakeholders, constituting 671 organisations from 110 countries across the globe, have now signed the ICBIE. These efforts represent a concrete, collective step towards a third way, the seed of a new development model emerging from the Global South through education.
In the first months of 2019:
The ICBIE has gained 4 new signatories
ERF has signed 10 new cooperation agreements
ERF delegations have visited over 12 countries
