At the invitation of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of Palestine, a senior ERF delegation, led by its President, visited the State of Palestine from Monday, 11 March to Wednesday, 13 March 2019.
At this occasion, the State of Palestine has become the latest signatory of the International Call for Balanced and Inclusive Education (ICBIE), joining its voice to stakeholders from over 80 countries in expressing a collective aspiration for Balanced and Inclusive Education.
With the unwavering commitment to fulfil the vision of the ICBIE, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, H.E. Dr. Sabri Saidam, and the President of the Education Relief Foundation, Sheikh Manssour Bin Mussallam, signed a cooperation agreement, strengthening networks of synergies and mutual cooperation in Balanced and Inclusive Education.
To commemorate this historic visit and agreement, the Minister of Education and Higher Education planted an olive tree on the premise of the Ministry in Ramallah naming it after the ERF President, thanking the organisation for the visit and celebrating the alliance between ERF and the State of Palestine.
As part of this official visit, the senior ERF delegation also met with notable figures, such as Prime Minister of Palestine, Dr. Rami Hamdalla and the Chairman of Bank of Palestine, Hashim Shawa, to discuss the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships to achieve the vision of Balanced and Inclusive Education for all. It was also the opportunity for ERF to observe first-hand the remarkable work done by the Zlad Abu Ein Pilot School and the Sadeh Science & Technology House in Bir Zeit. As the final act of its official visit to the State of Palestine, the ERF delegation visited the Yasser Arafat Museum in Ramallah, where the important endeavour of collective memory of a Palestine of all its citizens, regardless of faith or origin, is being undertaken.
